Will Carpenter is a 2020 MIF/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Aurora, OH who attends Aurora HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.11 sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infielder with smooth, clean glove actions while surrounding and funneling the baseball out. Releases from a low three-quarters arm slot that created solid carry across the infield topping at 79 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Flashed good hand quickness through the zone will turning the barrel to contact on a line drive plane. When squared, creates good jump off the barrel to the pull side gap. Also pitched showing a simple delivery, created some deception at release while hiding the baseball effectively from a high three-quarters arm slot. Stays on back half while working to the plate with good on line direction at release. Can manipulate fastball offering with running and cutting actions between 77-80 miles per hour. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good spin and proper depth at 71 miles per hour. Consistently changed speeds with the ability to pound the strike zone with both the fastball and curveball offering. Consistently generated soft, groundball contact while on the mound. Very good student. Named to the 2016 National Underclass-Main Event Top Prospect List.
