Joshua Slaats is a 6'5" 205 lbs right handed pitcher and first baseman from San Ramon, California who attends California High School. He has a lean projectable body which he can add more muscle to. He ran a 7.60 60 and touched 78 mph in the infield. On the mound, Joshua topped out at 84 mph with a 73 mph breaking ball. He has a compact arm action in back with arm speed out front and minimal effort to his delivery. Slaats hides the ball well and creates a problem for some hitters with a late look at the ball. His breaking ball is late and compact with good spin when he gets extendsion with it. Joshua has a good pitchers body and his arm projects more velocity to come.
