Tanner Bailey is a 2008 3B/P with a 6'6'', 235 lb. frame from Little Rock, AR who attends Little Rock Christian Academy. He has a extra large frame with very good present strength and could get even stronger down the road. Bailey is a primary third baseman now but will likely move to first base at the next level and showed pitching prospect ability, too. He lacks the mobility for third base as the game speeds up. Bailey is a left handed hitter who hits from a very spread, no stride approach. He gets his hips open early and has a long, lifted swing. The ball comes off his bat hard on contact and he can hit his pitch a long way with his strength and leverage. Timing will be a big issue with Bailey's hitting as the pitcher's get better. On the mound, Bailey shows a good feel for pitching with a 88-91 mph fastball and a long, loose arm action. He showed a sharp slider at 78 mph with a deep 2 plane break and some feel for a change up. Scouts may feel that he has more upside on the mound and that option will always be open for him.
