Mitchell Leroy is a 2019 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Lutz, FL who attends Freedom HS. Lengthy frame with a high waist, long limbs, and plenty of room for physical projection. Primary righthanded pitcher who throws exclusively from the stretch. High leg lift above the belt and utilizes a short arm action into a higher three-quarters arm slot. Straight fastball with a fastball up to 90 mph. Ball jumps out of the hand and has good control around the strike zone. Utilizes the lower half well with good push off the rubber and gets over the front side cleanly. Gets downhill well with good presence and confidence on the mound. Good curveball with very tight spin and can be thrown for strikes. Flashed a changeup and utilized it well against lefthanded hitters. Named to the 2018 NUC East Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Hillsborough CC. Good student.
