Samuel Pressman is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Mendota Heights, MN who attends Henry Sibley. Medium frame, compact athletic build. Solid athlete, ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Left handed hitter, slightly open stance with high back elbow set. Pull-oriented approach, shows good feel for the barrel, has hand quickness and some bat speed. Level, line-drive swing plane, middle of the field approach with repeatable swing mechanics. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and flashes ability to work through the baseball. Long, loose arm stroke with developing arm strength, needs to get on top of the ball. Also pitches, quick side step into leg lift out of the windup, tilted shoulders provide for some deception, hides ball well. Compact arm-action, works to a tight high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 74 mph, shows mild armside run and occasional sinking life. Demonstrated good feel for a breaking ball, shows late break and finish to the gloveside. Also flashed a rare changeup. Good student.
