Reece Puckett is a 2018 OF/SS, P with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Mt Washington, KY who attends Bardstown. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength with maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.63 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth actions while closing on the baseball. Fluid glove actions while picking up baseball with quick glove to hand exchanges. Creates good momentum to the bag while working through transition and releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated good carry the bag with accuracy topping at 84 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and leg lift trigger. Lower half launches with linear actions creating good shift into contact. Shows a compact, clean hand path to contact that generates a level, line drive plane through extension. Employed a balanced, mid-field approach that produced consistent, hard contact between the gaps. Flashed the barrel skills to work that baseball the other way as well. Solid, athletic tools at the plate and defensively. Will continue to develop with physical development and repetition. Very good student. Named to the 2016 Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
