Shoki Shirai is a 2016 C with a 5-6 163 lb. frame from Kiyose, Tokyo, JPN who attends Takudai Koryo HS. Young, athletic frame with present strength to build and additional room to fill out. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows compact actions behind the plate and sound fundamentals, pops out of crouch and gains ground with lower half, very compact arm action, gets on top and delivery accurate throws to second base, shows arm strength and will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set away from body. Upper body swing, stays very short with swing path, line drive swing plane and lets the ball travel. Shows feel for the barrel, high finish to swing, creates line drive contact with ability to hit to opposite field.
