Jake Remus is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Clearwater, FL who attends Osceola. Medium frame with long limbs and a lean build. Ran a 7.26 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with clean, sound footwork while moving through the baseball. Fluid glove actions while funneling and works through exchange. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot showing good arm strength with carry to the bag, topped at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and reaching front side trigger. Direct path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Showed good balance throughout swing and utilized a gap to gap approach. Swung with intent and flashed good fast twitch actions to contact. When on time, showed the barrel skills to work to all fields. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side. Released from a high three-quarters slot generating solid life through the zone with a fastball that topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with solid spin and depth when staying on top of offering. Consistently changed eye levels of hitters and worked in the strike zone. Outstanding student.
