Ryan Wilson is a 2016 C/3B with a 5-7 167 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Mesquite HS. Shorter compact build, has some present strength for his size. Agile defender behind the plate, shifts quickly and blocks well with energy, deadens the ball in front of his body consistently, gets rid of the ball quickly to make up for only fair arm strength, 2.02 best pop time, makes accurate throws. Left handed hitter, has a good shift into contact and uses his lower half well, inside swing path approach, hits mid field to opposite field, has some strength in his hands and the ball comes off his bat well, should hit for a high average.
