Nicholson Garrett is a 2017 SS/2B with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Draper, UT who attends Corner Canyon HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and fields the ball out front, shows quickness charging in, compact arm action, ball comes out of hand cleanly with strength and carry across, extra step at release, accurate to first base. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and wide base and a lower hand set in the box. Upper body swing, short stride, does a nice job of keeping bat path short to ball and gets the barrel to it. Pulls hands bat at start, shows quickness to barrel with extension out front, carry off the barrel when squared, consistent contact to pull side, projects well with continued incorporation of lower half. Excellent student.
