Brody Drost is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Sulphur, LA who attends Alfred M. Barbe. Strong well proportioned athletic build with room to get stronger. 6.72 runner, has strong fundamental footwork in the outfield, accelerates well through the ball, very accurate one bounce throws, will throw runners out, shows his athleticism well defensively. Left handed hitter, hits from a very spread bent knee stance, short swing with good extension through contact, swing is loose and fluid and gets the barrel to the ball on time, can use lower half more to help generate bat speed and power, high average approach. Also pitched, long arm action in back with a crossfire landing out front, athletic enough to repeat his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, mostly straight. Big breaking curveball was his best pitch, flashed a change up. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
