Cristian Cienfuegos is a 2019 SS/RHP,/OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Baytown, TX who attends Goose Creek Memorial High School. Younger player with a lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.09 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed a quick transfer, clean fielding actions, and good footwork. Good arm strength on throws from a three quarter arm slot up to 84 mph across the infield. At the plate, even stance, deeper weight shift to backside, and a long stride to the ball. Showed quick hands to the ball with a loose swing through the point of contact. Showed best contact to pull side with a line drive swing plane. Also showed ability to backspin the ball to get it in the air. Also pitched, started with a higher leg raise, closed landing, crossfire element, longer arm action through the back, big arm circle, and good tempo through delivery. Threw from a high three quarter arm slot and changed looks while on the mound. Very short stride down the mound with a quick drop and drive before coming home. Fastball worked 82-83 mph consistently with mostly true life and occasional plane to lower third of the zone. Showed feel for 11/5 shaped curveball, raising slot slightly for the pitch. Kept it low in the zone when best with replicated arm speed and good feel to spin the ball. Moved off the mound well with good athleticism and repeated delivery well.
