Diego Baqueiro is a 2020 3B/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Mission Hills, CA who attends Notre Dame. Medium and athletic frame. Primary third baseman with clean glove actions and quick, athletic feet. Long arm action from a low three-quarters slot in the infield. At the plate Baqueiro has an upright, even stance and simple load with a rotational lower half. Has a clean hand path with a simple line drive barrel plane that feeds into a middle of the field approach. Shows some good barrel control and bat speed that allows for consistently sharp contact. Secondary right handed pitcher, quick delivery from the windup with a controlled leg kick and slight drop and drive down the mound. Creates some good direction with the front hip and does a good job of getting over front side. High three-quarters arm slot. Showed good downward tilt with a fastball in the low-80s, top 82 miles per hour, and the ability to work to the bottom quadrants of the zone. Developing some feel for a curveball as well. Shows athleticism that will play with some added strength and power.
