Jack Washburn is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Webster, WI who attends Webster High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a high leg lift up past belt, movings parts to delivery with a short and on line stride down the mound. Full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point, gets on top and able to generate plane to fastball. Topped out at 86 mph and maintained well over time on mound, occasional cut action, projects for more velocity with incorporation of lower half into drive. Curveball shows 12-6 shape with bite and depth, thrown with solid arm speed up to 76 mph; flashed changeup with cut action up to 76 mph. Quick steps moving towards the ball from the outfield, strides open with lower half, shows arm strength on throws and ball comes out cleanly with accuracy to intended base. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing, occasionally gets to front side early, uses hands well and shows a linear swing path through the zone. Contact oriented approach and looks to pull the ball, shows some leverage out front at point of contact. Very good student.
