Dylan Messina is a 2026 SS/3B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Cortez, FL who attends IMG Academy. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout. Primary shortstop, plays with bounce in the dirt, works out front receiving and into a shorter arm action with a high slot on throws across the diamond, accurate throws, showed body control on the charge play with ability to adjust slot as needed to complete play, arm strength plays on the left side of diamond. Switch-hitter, slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; strength in wrists allows for impact at the point of contact, worked the middle of field with comfort and creates leverage in swing, juice plays. Left the yard from the right side as well, tighter swing and gets inside the ball at times, ball still jumps when on time and extended out front. Excellent student.
