2024 St. Louis Uncommitted Prospect Showcase
Brayden Saling is a 2025 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Sherman, IL who attends Williamsville. A medium frame and build with strength throughout a compact build. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop who had some strength through the release. He had a three-quarters arm slot with the ability to lower the slot and adjust as necessary. He moved up the middle well and had a clue for the movements working laterally. He was accurate around the bag. Threw 76 mph across the infield. A left-handed hitter who has slightly open feet with higher-set hands and a high back elbow. He has an upright stance with an inward move and some weight shift to get over the front side. He was able to get the barrel on it out in front and move in sync top-to-bottom. He can pull the ball, as evident during BP, with some line drives working pull-side and to the backside gap. He had some strength off it with a feel to leverage. He showed some consistent feel for the barrel and was able to pick up some good swings in-game. Produced an 80 mph exit velocity. A right-handed pitcher who sidesteps into a leg lift up above the belt. There was some stride down the mound, getting some extension through release. He works from a higher three-quarters arm slot. The fastball was up to 83 mph and had some angle with riding life through the zone. He also showed a curveball with a good 11-5 shape to it. The pitch had good depth with spin above the 2,100s. Also showed a changeup in the mix. He threw strikes and worked quickly with plenty of tempo and pace. He put together a clean outing overall. Good student.
