Jeff Holm is a 2007 LHP/1B/OF from St. Charles North High School in St. Charles, IL, with a 6'1'', 178 lb. frame. He has a projectable body with wide shoulders and good athleticism. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot, but will drop down at times. He pulls down and away from his body hard with his glove arm which causes him to open early. Holm has a leg kick that is deceptive to the hitter and he hides the ball well. Holm has good tempo on the mound and fills the zone with strikes. His fastball topped out at 80 mph with some arm side life. With his easy arm action and build, it is easy to project he will throw mid to upper 80s in the future. After he gets ahead of hitters with his fastball, he mixes in a 2 to 8 curveball with good break at 70 mph. He has good upside on the mound. Defensively he showed nice hands at first base with smooth footwork showing the ability to handle the position. At the plate he hits from a wide base with a no load approach from a high hand set. He stays open in his stance and looks to pull the ball. Holm is also a very good student.
