LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 National Pre-Draft Showcase
Karson Grout is a 2024 3B/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Wellman, IA who attends Mid-Prairie. Solid athletic build with good strength especially in his lower half. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open spread start, turns his lower half well and uses his strength to generate bat speed, aggressive swing, loose and extended through the zone with good lift, ball comes off the barrel hard and often, advanced swing that should work immediately at the next level. Did not run the sixty but has run 6.94 and 7.03 at his last two PG showcases. Primary third baseman on defense, has bounce in his footwork and puts himself in good position to field the ball, soft hands, big arm strength when his feet are set but shows the ability to change his arm slot and play on the move, showed his overall athleticism well. Good student, signed with Iowa. Named to the National Pre-Draft Showcase Top Prospect List.
