Jason Savacool is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Baldwinsville, NY who attends Baker HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, quick tempo on the mound; simple side step into a leg lift up past belt with hip turn at top, gathers on backside while before breaking into a fast arm action and working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 92 mph and maintained velocity very well during outing while filling the zone; dropped slot to low three-quarters at times with intent to provide different look. Tunnels slider extremely well and plays off of fastball, tight spin and up to 83 mph with late bite. Split-changeup showed hard diving life up to 86 mph with same fast arm action, swing-and-miss type pitch. True three-pitch mix and threw all for strikes. Outstanding student. Named to PG Underclass Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Maryland.
