2018 PG Top Prospect Games at Texas A&M
Jared Plank is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Memorial High School. Extra-large, broad shouldered build with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, high leg lift up past belt with high hand raise in unison; gets tall on backside with some gather over the rubber before coming down the mound with an on line stride. Full and quick arm action through the back, works to an over-the-top release point. Fastball topped out at 90 mph early, mostly true in life with occasional running life, some effort at release but filled the zone and showed balance; projects for more velocity with additional drive out of lower half. Curveball shows 11-5 shape at 77 mph, short and downward shape with bite when on top and maintaining arm speed. Flashed a changeup with nice fading life to arm side up to 79 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Hands start away from body, stays short to the ball with swing; upper body dominant swing and shows jump off the barrel when squared, linear path through the zone. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
