2022 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Ian Fisher is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends Carlsbad. A slender build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary LHP with a semi windup delivery and drop and drive mechanics. Utilizes the lower half well, gets down the mound with a bigger stride length and has a long arm action out of a high three-quarter slot. Has some arm speed and hides the ball well. Fastball was in the upper 70's out of a clean release and was consistently around the zone with some arm side run to it. Maintained arm speed on the low 70's changeup which had heavy fading action, advanced feel and command for the pitch. Developing curve with slurvy shape to it but does show some feel to spin. Moved around the bag well at 1B, showed some athleticism, hands funnel to the waist, gathers feet, squares shoulders and shows strong accurate throws and double play feeds. Everything was efficient and under control in the field. Hit from an even base and square stance with simple load stride timing. Drops the hands, top hand doesn't stay strong though the swing, uphill bat path with limited back side rotation and an all fields approach.
