2020 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase
Cannon Miller is a 2023 C/RHP, UT with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Clanton, AL who attends Chilton Co. He ran a 8.24 second sixty. A primary catcher with a medium build. behind the plat ehe does a nice job gaining ground into his throws with a short compact arm action and quick arm stroke, his ability to get his feet down quickly allows hint get rid of the ball in a hurry with a 1.95 second pop time. In the outfield he fields the ball off his left foot bending at the waist, he transitions into the throw with a big crow hop and full arm action, his throws showed some carry at 82 mph with developing accuracy. On the mound he sat 75-78 mph with his fastball, working from the stretch only he showed a slight leg lift working online to the plate, he controlled the fastball to both halves when the body and arm were timed up and also showed a curveball in the mid 60's. At the plate he starts slightly open before working back to even with a simple leg lift, his hands work short to the inside part of the ball with a solid weight transfer into contact and good extension through the baseball. He was impressive behind the plate in the games blocking the ball and showcasing his strong arm. Named to the 2020 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
