John Holobetz is a 2021 RHP/MIF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Kaska, PA who attends Pottsville Area. Recorded a 7.65 second sixty-yard dash time. Young, slender frame with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher; loose three-quarters arm slot with good direction down the slope and some late arm side movement when he stays on top. Tends to work quickly, occasionally dropping slot and losing feel for slider from the stretch. Fastball was in the low-to-mid 80s for duration of his outing, mixing in a slider that varied in shape at 73 mph and a developing changeup with knuckling tumble to it. Competes hard and will continue to improve with continued refinement of mechanics. Right-handed hitter with an upright, open stance and rotational lower half mechanics. Whole field approach with good balance, extension through contact and fairly decent bat-to-ball skills. Upside potential on the mound with more velocity in the tank as he adds strength. Excellent Student. Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
