Joshua Hinojos is a 2020 C/2B, SS with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Redlands, CA who attends Redlands East Valley. Developing build, posted a 7.19 second sixty yard dash. Primary catcher with quick feet that gain ground towards second base on his throws down. Posted a 1.94 second pop time. Athletic actions with feel, throws live around the second base bag. From the infield, has quick feet into either hole with solid glove work that fields out in front. Plays below the baseball well and finds some carry across the diamond. On the mound, has a shorter arm action from a three-quarters slot that works across body. His 72-75 mph fastball flashes arm side run at times. Creates some deception with a slight pause and turn at leg lift. 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball is still developing sharp actions. Lives around the zone with both pitches. Uses a spread stance with a leg kick trigger at the plate. Free and easy swing has a feel for the barrel, finishes high through extension. Creates separation.
