2007 Hawaii Showcase Tournament
Bryson Namba is a 2009 C/P/IF with a 6'0'', 200 lb. frame from Pearl City HI, who attends Damien HS. He has a broad frame and some present day strength, with room to continue to fill out. Namba flashed some ability both on the defensive and offensive side but needs reps and some polish. He showed well in batting practice, with a fluid stroke and hands that allowed him to spray the ball around the yard. Namba made good barrel contact and drove through contract, showing some pop. Consistent power could come if he can develop consistent timing and simply trust his swing. Defensively Namba is never in a hurry. He has a clean exchange and his footwork is solid. As he gets comfortable with the speed of the game against better players, Namba can develop into a solid catch/throw prospect. His bat could develop to the point where he stands out as a catcher. He is a solid student too.
