2024 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Ethan Byrd is a 2025 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Green Brook, NJ who attends Watchung Hills. Big and strong athletic build. Works from the stretch from the middle of the rubber, compact high leg raise and coil over the rubber, full arm action in back coming to a 3/4's arm slot, keeps his front side closed well and is in sync. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with good arm side running life. Threw a upper 60's slurve type curveball as his breaking ball, spots it will down in the zone, tends to slow his arm on release. Also developing a change up. Strike thrower with some feel for how to pitch and get outs, has been up to 83 mph at PG tournaments. 5.28 runner in the forty. Plays first base when not on the mound, showed his athleticism well and is an agile defender with plenty of arm strength for the position. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight bent knee stance with a toe tap trigger, swings hard with some uphill plane, gets into his strong lower half well, not consistent in his timing and barrel path but makes loud hard contact when he gets it on the barrel, works gap to gap. Has potential as a two-way player. Good student. Named to the Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
