Tyler Thurmond is a 2027 C/RHP/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Gainesville, FL who attends F. W. Buchholz. Features a medium frame with athleticism present. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. Primary catcher. Uses a one knee setup. Shows quick exchange into a compact release. Gains ground well out of the crouch. Can create carry on accurate throws. Recorded a 1.98 pop time. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a simple, balanced operation. Shows a compact path with some hand speed. Will generate more impact with additional strength added to the frame. Can drive balls to the pullside gap when in-sync. Right-handed pitcher. Uses a semi-windup delivery with tall and fall mechanics. Stays under control down the mound. Throws from an overhead slot with a longer arm action. Fastball sat 81-84 mph on a downhill plane. Offering works well at the bottom of the zone. Curveball sat 70-72 mph with 12-6 action. Offering has some depth when spun well. Excellent student.
