Ean Compton is a 2022 LHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Princeton, IL who attends Princeton. Medium athletic build with lots of time and room to get stronger. High leg raise delivery with a good balanced gather over the rubber, works downhill with late acceleration to the plate, lands a bit closed with his front leg, 3/4's arm slot. Consistent low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight and down in the zone, tends to nibble a bit with his fastball. Big breaking 1/7 curveball with tight spin when he's out front with it, has a chance to be a plus pitch for him that can change eye level and get swing and miss. Developing change up. Lots of things to like in a sophomore left-hander. Good student. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
