Brady Smith is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Bean Station, TN who attends Grainger. Young athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Back turn delivery, gets on line out front well, medium length arm action, some effort out front at release, arm is fast and loose coming through, high 3/4's arm slot. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life. Has a complete arsenal of secondary pitches. Change up has nice potential with good arm speed and feel. Very high spin rates on both a slider and a hard curveball, curveball had more consistency and a better release with nice tightness, tends to drop his arm slot on his slider and get around it. High ceiling young arm who could really jump over the next year with additional strength and refinement. Good student, verbal commitment to Virginia Tech.
