Angel Acuna is a 2026 RHP/1B/3B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from La Mirada, CA who attends La Habra. A taller frame and a medium build with a higher set waist. Ran a 7.93 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who worked from the stretch only. He had a leg lift up above the belt, working into a higher slot over the top. He had some trunk tilt through his higher release. His fastball has some downhill angle to it from the higher slot. He also showed a 12-6 breaking curveball in the arsenal. He was not afraid to throw it in any count, either. Flashed a changeup as well to round out a three-pitch mix. The changeup had good depth to it. He extended well through release, with some coil as he lifts the leg to drive down the slope. Super efficient outing getting quick outs. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing just 1 hit with 4 strikeouts. He's a left-handed hitter who sets up with high-set hands and a high back elbow. He's got slightly open feet and he keeps a shorter path to the ball with some lift through his finish. He was able to show off a feel for the barrel during his round. Produced an 83 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. He has 4 hits with a double to his credit as well during games, finding ways to get it done at the dish. He worked out as a first baseman with a longer arm action through the back. Threw 82 mph across the diamond to third. He fielded it up the middle and funneled well into throws with good accuracy. Clean feeds. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
