Johnny Ortegae is a 2025 RHP/SS with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Boothwyn, PA who attends Monsignor Bonner. Projectable, long, lean frame with tons of strength remaining to be added as he matures physically. Recorded a 7.56-second sixty-time. Right-handed pitcher with a loose and fluid operation, using his entire frame to get downhill with extension. Fastball comes out of his hand easy with riding action through the zone. Up to 84 mph with his heater as he cruised in the 80-83 range during his outing. Advanced feel for breaking ball with tight spin, showing the ability to land it for strikes. Flashed a change-up that surely projects as plus as he continues to gain confidence in the pitch. Secondary middle-infielder, soft hands showing solid glove actions, carrying his momentum though the ball, up to 83 mph across the diamond. Footwork and mobility could improve but a lot to like during his round. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance with a high back elbow. Long barrel path with the ability to spray line-drives to all fields. Projects on the mound for the long term. Name to 2021 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Top Prospect List.
