Barron Gatlin is a 2026 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Tuscaloosa, AL who attends Northridge. Long and lanky build with plenty of room to get stronger, notably long limbed. Works exclusively from the stretch, full arm swing in back with a high 3/4's arm slot, gets down the mound well. Fastball sat in the mid-80's with some sink and low spin characteristics. Threw a hard short slider as his breaking ball with enough movement to get off barrels, more like a cutter at times. Will need to develop more off-speed options but has a good base to build from. 7.31 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, showed his athleticism very well, fields the ball cleanly off his front foot and transitions well into his throws, has very good arm strength and carry and made accurate throws, interesting if his outfield arm strength further translates on the mound. Right handed hitter, starts with a slightly open front side and a inward toe tap trigger, creates some bat speed with a long and levered swing, has power potential. Good student. Named to the Deep South High School All-State Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
