Xavier Rodriguez is a 2029 C/1B/3B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Loganville, GA who attends Archer. Medium, athletic looking frame with plenty of time and room to mature physically. Recorded a 7.78 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from both a one-knee setup and slightly side-saddled setup. Displayed soft hands, a direct midline transfer and gained ground towards his target. Gets slightly uphill into release and recorded arm strength up to 68 mph from behind the dish during drills. Secondary corner infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Showed some lateral range, slightly deliberate with his footwork and displayed a clean funnel out in-front. Produced fairly accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 67 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open base with a tight hand set and subtle heel-turn loading mechanism. Intent based stroke with good rhythm and tempo into launch. Used quick hands to launch, showed strength at impact and projects for legitimate power as he continues to refine his stroke and add strength. Gap-to-gap approach with some backspin and carry through the middle-of-the field. Projectable, young prospect with upside on both sides of the ball.
