JD Stein is a 2025 SS/MIF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Carmel, IN who attends Carmel. Medium, athletic frame with present strength proportioned and plenty of quick-twitch muscle. Strong runner, posted a 6.62 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves around well on feet with balance and coordination, plenty of quickness to feet/actions, hands work out front, clean arm path and ball jumps out of hand when letting it rip, athleticism is a standout tool, consistently accurate across. Right-handed hitter with wide base and medium hand set; does a nice job of staying short and compact to the baseball while working on a linear plane. Best when getting the hands extended out front, gets the barrel to the ball and creates line drive carry when squared, can work to all parts of the field. Very good student.
