Ethan Blakeney is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Plano, TX who attends Lebanon Trail. Slender young athletic build. 7.06 runner in the sixty. Shows good athleticism in the outfield and fielded the ball cleanly, shows lots of raw arm strength and carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread open stance with a short leg lift trigger, deep hands in back create some length, swings hard and is an aggressive hitter, bat speed and ability to turn the barrel will continue to improve as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Took a turn on the mound, slow to fast delivery, spins off hard out front with all his momentum heading to the first base dugout. Fastball topped out at 83 mph from a 3/4's release, more velocity there with better direction to the plate. Also threw a slurve type breaking ball from a lower release slot and attempted a change up. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
