CJ Simone is a 2026 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Manalapan, NJ who attends St. John Vianney. Compact, medium frame with room to add strength and physically mature. Recorded a 7.53 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary first baseman with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Showed some limited lateral range to either side, a clean funnel out in-front and fairly agile turns to throw. Produced arm strength up to 70 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Methodical delivery with elongated movements down the slope and longer takeaway on the backside on his arm stroke. Fastball worked in the 68-70 mph range during his outing, flashing some natural cut to it and topped out at 70 mph from a high, extended three-quarters arm slot. Showed command to either side of the plate, landed shorter, vertical breaking ball for strikes and showed a firmer changeup with some gradual depth to it. Completed arsenal with split-finger fastball that displayed some tumble to it. Will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional velocity. Left-handed hitter that this from slightly open stance with a tight hands set and leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics and hand driven stroke to get to contact. Whole field approach with developing feel for the barrel that will improve with proper swing adjustments and physical maturity. Excellent Student.
