Jace Avina is a 2021 OF/SS with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Sparks, NV who attends Spanish Springs. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, simple approach with a short lower half shift, has quick hands and swings hard, very aggressive attacking the ball, crushed a couple of hard 90+ exit velocity line drives in the games, confident hitter who hits with intent. 6.85 runner in the sixty. Showed big arm strength in the outfield, footwork can get off but when he's right there is plus on line carry, moves athletically to the ball. Had a quick inning on the mound throwing strikes with an 83 mph fastball and big slow downer curveball. Very good student, signed with Nevada. Named to the West Coast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
