Reese Johnson is a 2027 RHP/SS with a 6-0 160 lb. lean, wiry frame from San Marcos, CA who attends San Marcos HS. Started the event off clocking a 7.04 60-yard dash. A primary pitcher, secondary infielder. On the mound johnson shows a longer arm action from a 3/4 slot and works out of the stretch exclusively. Strides long down the hill with good direction to the plate. 77-80 mph fastball that flashes some natural arm side run at times. Likes to work the right side of the plate while mixing in a good 10/4 shaped slider with present side to side actions. Changeup shows solid fade as well with good fastball arm action. In the infield, he moves well into the hole as well as up the middle. Fields out in front and he shows good softness to his hands. At the plate, uses an upright and narrow stance with a simple mid leg kick trigger. Slightly hunches over the plate as he loads, hands start pre-loaded and launch quickly through the zone. Flat barrel plane with a middle of the field approach. Excellent student.
