Sammy Garcia is a 2028 SS/RHP/C with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Hamilton. Features a medium-sized compact frame with some sneaky strength. Ran a 7.56 60-yd dash. At SS, showed good feel for the position. Shows light feet and soft hands that field it real clean. Works through the baseball in rhythm with body control and coordination. Arm shows above avg. strength across with avg. accuracy. Staying power on the dirt. Behind the plate, sets up in a slight side saddle. Showed quality quickness to his feet where he gained good ground/direction toward 2nd. Arm strength was there but one-hopped several to 2nd. At the plate, sets up in a medium base where he uses simple/easy moves into launch. Hands show noticeable twitch/quickness in throwing the barrel on compact and slight uphill path. Tight turns with control/balance. Produced plenty of LDs into and through the gaps during his round showing good barrel feel. Translated into gameplay with a couple opposite field barrels. On the mound, shows an athletic operation. Works with force/intent down the mound. Slower build into leg lift but builds up speed/pace during drift and into quick rotation. Arm works into a medium arm path out the glove and to release out of a normal 3/4 slot. FB was up to 87 and exhibited some natural run/sink action. Mixed in two different breakers. CB was more 11-5 in the upper 60s and mixed in a harder slurvy SL in the mid 70s where he showed feel to land both. Also flashed a CH he creates good depth and kills spin on.
