Daniel Bibona is a 2006 left handed pitcher/outfielder from Santa Margarita HS in Lake Forest, CA, with a 5'10", 150 lb. frame. The lean and athletic lefty allowed only 2 hits in his 3 innings of work while striking out 3. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with good late run. Bibona has a fluid delivery with good arm speed from a 3/4 arm slot. He also showed good off-speed pitches with a 68 mph slider and a 72 mph change with some arm side fade. Offensively he is a patient left handed hitter with a short and compact swing. He hits from an open stance and closes well at contact with good bat speed, and shows good rhythm at the plate. Bibona is a line drive hitter that puts the ball in play and doesn't try to do too much. He stays back on pitches well, and has a good idea of the strike zone showing the ability to be a good top of the order hitter. In the outfield he has good actions with arm strength and good accuracy. Bibona is also a very good student.
