John Thornton is a 2027 C/1B/OF with a 6-2 188 lb. frame from Jensen Beach, FL who attends Jensen Beach. Big and strong athletic build with more room to get stronger. 7.26 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, limited gain into his throws, compact arm action with some hitch in back, has more arm strength there with adjustments. Also worked out in the outfield and showed his arm strength better, tends to throw uphill but gets good carry, fields the ball cleanly and has some flow through his actions. Right handed hitter, hits from a medium base with a simple load and timer, swing is short and uphill and can get grooved at times, has strength that he isn't using in his swing. Good athlete with tools who will continue to improve as his skills develop. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
