Easton Payne is a 2029 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Midland, TX who attends Midland Legacy High School. Bigger build for his age with plenty of present strength and more to come. Right handed hitter, sets up in a balanced upright stance with a short stride into contact, upper body rotational swing with some present bat speed for his age, ball comes off the barrel well, line drive swing plane with occasional lift out front, can get into his lower half more to tap into more bat speed, gap to gap contact with projectable power. 7.64 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, has step by step actions to the ball, tends to wait back on the ball, still developing his glove actions and positioning, has some arm strength and looseness to develop with improved footwork into his throws. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a slow leg raise to the belt, full arm swing in the back to a mid 3/4's arm slot, works down the mound well. Fastball was mostly in the upper 70's and topped out at 81 mph with some running life and downhill angle. Change up was a good pitch he threw with confidence to both side hitters, also threw a short sweeping slider. Has mound talent to continue to develop. Good student.
