Emrick Thompson is a 2026 3B/RHP/C with a 5-6 150 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Sunnyside. Features a smaller compact build with some sneaky strength. Ran a 7.42 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed strong actions. Intent to work through the baseball on each GB. Light feet that show above avg. lateral quickness. Glove actions were solid showing sureness/softness at an out front reception. Good exchanges that got him to release with quickness. Used a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws across with avg. strength. Behind the plate, operated from a side saddle set up. Gets out the crouch fast while gaining good ground toward 2nd. Avg. exchange quickness but keeps a short arm action where throws were made with avg. strength for his level but were accurate to the bag. At the plate, he sits in a medium base with higher set hands that have the barrel set outwards. Slight sway into backside with a smaller leg lift trigger. Path works short-to-long through that gets to some loft and pullside power out front. Flashes of above avg. bat/hand speed for his level. Hard contact the majority of his round displaying some solid barrel feel. Swing translated into gameplay with a couple loud XBHs to the pullside. On the mound, used a more drop/drive type delivery. Strong use of the lower-half that gets him working down the mound with pace and intent. Slightly open lander and gets over his front side well. Medium arm path out the back that worked up a higher 3/4 slot. Ran the FB up to 82, living in the upper 70s that flashed some sinking actions at times. Mixed in a low 70s SL that he had a ton of confidence in. Showed slurvy shape with some late depth that produced some buckled takes. Also showed a CH that had more fading action than depth and produced some whiffs vs LHHs. Named to Top Prospects List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
