Gunnar Larner is a 2028 C/1B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Maroa, IL who attends Maroa-Forsyth High School. Features a medium-sized build with some developing physicality. Ran a 7.98 60-yd dash. Behind the plate, displayed solid catch/throw skill. Worked from a knee down set up. Showed athleticism out the crouch where he gained good ground. Exchange was fast/compact happening at the upper chest with an arm that stayed short/quick to release that got off all accurate throws to the bag. At the plate, he sits in a wider base with lower set hands that set a flat barrel on his shoulder. Shows a bigger negative move within a heel-turn/toe-tap trigger. Hands throw the barrel on a more uphill path with quality bat speed. Some over rotation and cut off to the path at times. Some inconsistency with timing and barrel feel but hit a couple real loud in the air to the pullside when he caught it out front. Outstanding student.
