Cooper Hoog is a 2026 1B/LHP with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Arnold, MO who attends Seckman. A bigger kid and frame with strength to it. Has some physicality with strength that projects moving forward. A primary first baseman who moved to it alright, fielding it up the middle, with feel for the footwork around the bag. He has a lower slot working uphill with some strength through release, throwing 80 mph across the diamond. He moves pretty well and has a clean arm action. A left-handed hitter with slightly open feet, higher-set hands, and a higher back elbow. He has good turns with a feel for the barrel to turn and get it out in front. He had good leverage, using his physicality well. The ball jumps off the barrel, and he shows some speed through contact. He could impact the operation well with some looseness. Had a couple of hits in-game, belting a few doubles. Also produced an 89 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. He took to the mound as a left-handed pitcher, being a bigger kid, moving well, showing a leg lift up around the belt. He lets the weight carry him down the slope with a longer arm action through the back. It's a pretty fluid release from a longer and loose arm action. The fastball has some life and angle to it. He ran it up to 80 mph and also showed a bigger 11-5 shaped breaking ball in the mix that had depth to it. He could get over the top of the breaker and pull down through release. Good outing on the mound, threw strikes. Good student. Named to 2024 St. Louis Uncommitted Showcase TP List.
