Ricky Lopez is a 2027 SS/2B/3B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from New York, NY. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, smooth and fluid defender in the dirt, sound footwork with in sync actions, softness to hands out front with some snatch and adjustability; fundamentally sound and actions played in game, strong arm with carry across to first base. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a deeper hand set with a high back elbow; employs a leg lift trigger and a shorter, direct path to the ball. All fields approach at the plate, swung it well in game, shows ability to generate backspin off of the barrel with some jump at point of contact. Occasionally gets downward with swing, shows present bat speed with ability to generate extension out front. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Named to the 2023 14u Perfect Game Select Festival.
