Zachary Russo is a 2025 LHP/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Tewksbury, MA who attends Tewksbury Memorial. Works from a sturdy frame with some room to add strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, utilizes an abbreviated wind-up, works into a coiled leg lift and crossbody landing, releases from a lower slot. Moved the fastball well around the strike zone, showed tons of life through the zone and topped out at 83 mph. Mixed in a fading changeup that killed spin and showed heavy lateral action, cuts and sinks it to both sides of the plate. Flashed a low-70s lateral slider with some bite to it, located it well and earned a few swings and misses with it. Pounded the zone with his mix and produced quick outs, held a similar velocity band throughout his three innings of work, projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to add strength. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 Northeast Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
