Ben Conlin is a 2009 C with a 6'1'', 205 lb. frame from Thousand Oaks, CA who attends Westlake. Conlin has a big frame with wide shoulders. He has a good build with present strength. Defensively, Conlin has quick transfers and a quick release from behind the plate. He has developing arm strength at 72 mph and makes good throws. Conlin has good actions behind plate and is a nice receiver. He moves well to block balls and has playable hands. At the plate, Conlin starts with a straight stance and uses a knee lift trigger to start his swing. He generates good bat speed and maintains good balance through his swing. The ball jumps off his bat and he has some present power. Conlin makes consistent solid contact and has good hitting tools. He is also a very good student.
