Julian Cruz is a 2029 RHP/MIF/OF with a 5-5 110 lb. frame from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA who attends Santa Margarita Catholic. Cruz worked from a range of defensive spots during his event, starting as a primary RHP on the mound chucking exclusively from the stretch. Utilized simple drop and drive mechanics with developing arm speed to ultimately top out at 62 mph. Successfully challenged hitters in the zone releasing from a traditional 3/4 slot. Cruz also worked from both the OF and IF, showcasing controlled actions at both positions with accurate throws to pair. He made plays asked of him and looked comfortable regardless of where he was on the field. Offensively, the righty started from a wider even base with a high hand set and high back elbow. He consistently generated contact to the opposite field with developing strength in the hands. Should continue to see physicality develop in the future. Ran a 8.42 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
