Kal Hampton is a 2027 C/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Hamilton HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.49 60-yard dash. A primary catcher, secondary pitcher. Uses a knee down setup. Solid transfer and throwing mechanics with plenty of room to improve with his footwork. Strong foundation as a backstop. Posted a 1.99 pop time to second base. On the mound, has a short arm action from a over-the-top slot. 78-81 mph fastball possesses good downhill angle as well as occasional arm side run. Also mixes in a high 11/5 shaped slider with solid depth and bite. Is not afraid to go back to back with the pitch. Stays tall throughout his motion and is at his best when working out in front. At the plate, uses a tall, narrow stance with a simple mid-leg lift trigger. Has a simple bat wag into his load and stays direct to the baseball. Elevated barrel plane through the zone generates natural launch angle. Present pop to all fields when barreled. was named to the Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
